Ms Spiers and parsnips

Arrived at the BBC Radio Devon studios last Friday and received a very warm welcome from Ms Spiers and producer Richard.
A 'Little Bird' (no pun intended) told me it was Richard's birthday so I thought it would be rude not to bring a small gift. So I spent a little time, that morning digging in the garden to find a fabulous example of one of my favourite root vegatables, the parsnip.
When presented with the said parsnip Richard graciously accepted with slight shock.
